You're better off without someone like that. At least you got some great kids out of him. (I've noticed that even total losers can help produce some wonderful kids) What a Richardhead.

Bob was far more excited than I was when I was pregnant with DD. (I was _way_ too busy throwing up) I was a whole two months pregnant when I got my first mother's day card and gift, which still resides in my hope chest. I treasure it alongside my very favorite mother's day gift - a wooden spoon with a face drawn on it and yellow yarn for hair. DD made it when she was three years old. She wrote her name on it, too - sort of. She knew that there are three "A"s in her name, and they're all that she had room to write.

I heard an announcement on the radio that the average Mother's day gift costs $98 and some odd cents. Now, I love my mom, and we aren't poor, but no way on this Earth am I spending nearly a hundred bucks on a Mother's day gift. I even called and told her so. Mom's frugal sensibilities were shocked, and she told me that the beads for the necklace she wants cost nowhere near a hundred dollars.

(For the newbies: My mother is infamous for "ordering" a heck of a lot of jewelry. She has well over a hundred of my pieces, and manages to cadge at least a few more every time she visits)

Your daughter married a keeper. Give them both hugs for me on Mother's Day.

Next time you see your daughter's mother in law, shake her hand. She did a good job raising her son.

I"m a lot better off without him.. my boyfriend is great.. he supports my "habit" (cross stitching and now jewelry.. in fact he's tying the knots for my daughter's bracelet..... ).... and he does 99 % of the cooking and 99% of the cleaning..... and never lets me run out of grape koolaide or crunchy peter pan peanut butter!

My ex was not excited at all about the kids... but when he "met" his current wife she was pregnant with (supposedly) another man's baby.. he has since "adopted" that baby.... funny thing is.... she looks so much like my kids that people have asked me if she's mine!! ( and I love her dearly... she's a sweet kid.. and it's not her fault at all... I almost consider her one of my own.. even to the point that when they still lived near us I would keep her over night usually once a month!)

I can appreciate the time it takes to finish something like that. I hope you share it with us when you done, Sheri.

I will.. I'm going to redo my website and start posting pics of my work there... not that I'm any great artist or anything... but there are already two sites of pics of my grandson..... I think that's enough!

Ok, the Mom bracelet, along with another bracelet that I made when I took the knotting class, and a double pearl/crystal necklace are posted...but I forgot to post just a plain pearl necklace. Oh well...it's just a pearl necklace with clear seed beads in between the pearls...nothing really special. *L*

I've got a "bracelet buddy"...... but knowing my daughter she will not take it off .... and when she does she will have her hubby help her....... because of his work schedule and the fact that the baby still lets her sleep late.... and she don't go anywhere without him because they only have one car..... right now it's not a problem!!! I've not had good luck with toggle clasp staying closed for me.... I don't know if it's something I've done wrong.. or just been unlucky!

Click on one of the two sites listed below. Scroll down and click on "PC's Corner" and choose "The Great Cow Chip Bingo" for a FUNNY high school football story. I can picture this in my mind as it is unfolding. :-D

Barrel clasps are not functional on bracelets because you need two hands. I'd be willing to guess that the daughter here likes barrel clasps -- but they're on her necklaces.

Use a toggle. Really. They're much, much better for bracelets. And as for sizing -- how big is your wrist? Perhaps you can size the bracelet on your own wrist, if it's anywhere close to the same size as hers. Or you can use the roll inside a roll of toilet paper -- make it the same dimension as her wrist, and size the piece on that.

Sounds like my Putrid ExHusband. He treats his new wife "like a queen", but he ignored me totally (or mistreated me) when I was the wife. Blecch. :-P~~~ puke ~~ Sooz
