Its done! (first peyote piece)

I'm pretty sure -- based on how those purses were usually crafted -- that they're loomwork. Square stitch is offloom work, but it's the same stitch as loomed work -- it's the offloom loom stitch. ~~ Sooz To live a creative life, we must lose our fear of being wrong. ~~Joseph Chilton Pearce

Im glad to know this historical information. Thats another project on my to do list, loom work. I wish I could lay my hands on these purses, just to take another look but also to record them for others who may want to recreate them. Diana

Beautiful work. Have you tried freeform peyote yet? That's one of my favorites to do, cause you can make endlessly different pieces with it.

Thank you. Free form is on my list of things to try, and it was a tutorial on free form that showed me the potential of peyote, and made me eager to try it. It showed me I could make loop parts that could work for a watchband (if i can work out the other logistics of it ). Diana

And thank you for that, Sooz! I'm stuck on my spiral, tore out two sections twice already. When I wondered why this is, I realized it's because that the only project I'm working on. I need more. You came to my rescue just in the nick (or should that be knick?) of time.

Thank you doll!
