By 1:30, my head was exploding. By the time I went to get Adam from work, I was seeing double--literally. That was an odd experience--kinda scary to drive like that. My blood pressure had gone through the roof--we stopped at a pharmacy to check it and found I was at 171/119. I couldn't get my thoughts out clearly to Adam, and most stuff was coming out backwards. I suppose he'd forgotten that when my BP is that high, I can't make rational, sane, and safe decisions, and agreed with me when I suggested going out for dinner. Oddly enough, my BP had come down considerably by the time we were done eating dinner.

Right now, my head is still going strong on the Pain Scale. But at least I don't have any plans to drive today. Anyone wanna come babysit Tyler for me so I can crawl back into bed?

Do you know if you have a sensitivity to MSG? In some people that can spike blood pressure and cause all sorts of problems. Chinese food is notorious for containing high levels of MSG.

KarenK

too bad you can't drop him at my house. I'd love to have him!

Are you on blood pressure meds? Did you forget to take them? (That happened to me on vacation once. Totally forgot to take any pills for 3 days - I was a MESS)

Cheri (Bubbee to Emily and Nathan)

I had the problems start before I ate the chinese food. In an unheard of before turn of events, the BP dropped after I ate the chinese food! lol I do have to wacth my intake of sodium and MSG though--if I have too much in a short amoutn of time, I swell and get headachy and whatnot. No fun at all, especially for a gal who prefers salty to sweet.

Oh man Cheri--Tyler would be all over you like cat hair on a black dress...He would LOVE you! Ever since I had my bad experience with pregnancy with Tyler, I've had to watch my BP levels. I can generally control it thru diet, though. That pregnancy just really did me in--it seems I took some of the toxemia/eclampsia effects "home" with me. That really bites, too, because it just adds to things to look forward to- I was already at a 25% higher risk of diabetes, and getting gestaional diabetes upped that by another 50%, and now I get to add high BP to the list. Poo on it.

When my migraines come on full force, as they did yesterday and today, my BP decides to take an upward trip for a few hours. It's back to normal for the most part now, and should stay that way as long as I stay as calm as I can.

Candace,

All that just scares the s*it outta me. I can't imagine driving seeing double. And high BP on top of everything. Hugs girly. I didn't know you were feeling that bad when I called last night.

Candace,

Wish I could help with Tyler.

You have to moderate yourself!

It isn't worth it!

JESUS. Candace, shouldn't you be at the Dr, not in bed?

When did you call? I have no recollection of you calling last night! And don't worry, I'm still hurting, but I'm 100% better today.

I don't know this word...moderation? lol I know, I know. I'll try to remember that.

BP came down, so I'm not experiencing aything I haven't before today. I just told my mom what happened (what was I thinking?!?!?!?) and she says that when she gets here Tuesday, I need to schedule an appt. Oh, did I tell you my mom is finally coming to visit? YAY!

OH man...that just sucks. Feeling any better today? Did ya get anything good yesterday??

Oh, good!

How is your mom doing BTW?

I am really glad she didn't retreat into herself after your grandmother passed away.

I called about 9 last night. Adam answered and we talked a few minutes. He's so darn sweet.

She needs to get away. Like AWAY. From that house, yanno? It's been uber-hard for her, but she just keeps on plugging away, and now it's time for a much needed rest with the grandkids. I'm so excited that she's coming.

Doesn't he have the sexiest voice? LOL. Sooo whatcha guys talk about? Or do I already know the answer to that? *grins*

He has a cute voice. He sounds so young, which I know he is. LOL You know what we talked about...you...and boxes. LOL

So glad to hear that you're feeling better today, Candace... and that your mom is coming to visit! She'll make you feel better in no time. :)

WTF? Why does your BP do that? Do the doctors know, and is it controllable? I used to have hideously high BP but it turned out to be just anxiety from being overworked and overstressed. All that driving would definitely do it to me, too! Is there any way for you to NOT be the family ferry? Transporting is a lot of work and a lot of stress, and it eats up a huge amount of your day. My ferrying situation is out of hand but about to be modified in a couple of weeks... my beloved Gwyn, who has babysat all three of my kids in varying combinations every since my divorce, is getting fired (she knows this, we talked about it a month ago) because I can no longer handle the stress of driving three kids to a different destination at different times. That's six trips a day! Moxley thinks I do too much, and he's right, so we've decided that rather than make me sick from stress, we're canceling our health insurance so I can afford to work less and therefore not need Gwyn to babysit, therefore not have to run around so much.

It's a risk, but something has to give. If he gets this job in January, I will be able to work just for *fun*. !!!
