I have just marked all read. I tried catching up, but being away all day yesterday sort of made that difficult, so I just tried to make sure I read most of the things I could find that were responses to things I posted. Hope I didn't miss too much!

I skip threads all the time. As you say, there just aren't enough hours in the day to read *everything*! Or I might dip into a thread just to read a few posts, either to see if this is one I want to follow or because a particular person usually has something interesting to say.

Don't feel bad Laura...I have to mark read like every 2 days! LOL! Sometimes it's just not possible to read it all. So I check out the one's that would look interesting and mark the rest read. I hate doing it, but I'd never catch up otherwise.

Same here. And I am thinking ... so what happens when I get a 'day job'? Staying tuned in will just become impossible. And yet the action around here is such an enrichment to my life. I'll just have to find a middle way, between giving up, and trying to scrape together the time to read everything.
