]Sexual energy. Passion and excitement. Are Scorpios strong nesters?
all of those would fit me. i've always thought it was just me being female, as far as nesting, but i do it big time.

That's because you are worthy, and you're valued here. I'm glad there's a place where you can come and get that sort of reinforcement.

Aha! That's where I'm going wrong...
*licks end of pencil and writes down carefully... supposed to function*Hmmm.... where's that box of beads!

*whew*, 'cause after I posted it, I was afraid it would be seen as flippant in light of the seriousness of the topic at times...
but, to me, "junk" isn't a negative, it's a collective word!...lol...

I thought it was funny.

Yes, I have that! I call myself a Recovering Perfectionist, because I embrace mistakes nowadays.
But I think mostly it has to do with pain and the resultant depression. It gives me this stiff inertia. I punch it and pull it and then I have to go take a nap. When I wake up, I have to go do stuff that's necessary (grocery store, pee, pay bills -- boring crap we all have to do).
They do. I don't mean to downplay the perfectionist suggestion. I think perfectionism is powerful and sneaky and can be all-pervasive. I'm going to re-examine. ~~ Sooz
Oh GOD me TOO! ~~ Sooz
It's my grocery cart's fault. You should have seen it. ~~ Sooz
Oh Kathy! OMTP. It wasn't just the Pretty Issue. I was my mother's mother from a very early age, and I still am when I'm with her. She is naive to a (huge) fault. Ignorant of the world (great at western-civilization history).
~~ Sooz
HAW! (yes) ~~ Sooz
Oh, I know exactly what you mean, and didn't think you were downplaying the suggestion...I am learning more and more how complex we are, versus how simple things looked to me in my immortal 20's! Haw!

JoAnn, about the most useful sort of therapy I have found for getting rid of intrusive memories is the kind where you go hrough a series of excercises, over the course of usually 8-10 weeks, where you explore the memories THOROUGHLY until you have come completely to terms with them. It's exhausting, frightening, and painful, and you do need the guidance of a therapist, but it makes all the difference in the world. It's freeing, because at the end the memories no longer have the power... you have the power.
You still have the memories, but they don't intrude anymore.
-Kalera
I honestly don't want to bring those memories up. Children should not be made to do the things I was and an adult shouldn't be made to deliberately live thru them again. I consider myself lucky in that I'm not royally screwed up. Sure, I have issues, who doesn't? But I function rather well. The memories don't arise often and when they do, I let the ADD kick in and sure enough, hey, there's a deer. Wow, I wonder where it sleeps at night?
It works.
