OT Got air?

Wish I did. I'm having a lot of trouble getting enough air into my lungs today--I'm sure because of the build up of what's affectionately referred to in my household as "lung butter."

I woke up today for the first time since getting sick feeling like I could really breathe, but for some reason, I'm having even more trouble now than I did before! If I don't improve by this evening, I'm going to trek on down to the E.R. I can deal with a lot of things, but being constantly dizzy and lightheaded from lack of O2 is rather worrisome, yanno?

Have I ever mentioned how much I'd like to live in a bubble? Poo on being ill. I have things to do, dammnit!

Why not toddle down to the GP right now? the waiting in the ER is always worse, and you'll be exposed to MUCH sicker folks, too.

Candace, get yourself down there to the doctor's or the ER right now! You can do yourself a lot of damage by waiting even a few hours. You can't take care of yourself and your family if you're so ill.

I mean it, missy! Don't make me come over there.

GP would be A LOT cheaper. Is there a clinic you could go to after your husband gets home?

Hmmmph.. OMTP. Its expensive, going to the dr.. but breathing is worth the money. Not breathing is not good. Diana

Candace is really bad. I called her earlier and her mother answered. She said Candace was coughing and wheezing so bad she couldn't talk.

Candace - I'm worried about you woman. Please get well very soon.

Starlia, darling, I'm okay, really. When Mom came into the bedroom to get me, she had to wake me up, which startled me, and caused me to choke on ickiness. When you're sick like this, it takes a while after waking up to clear the airways, yanno? I just hadn't had a chance to do that yet. Which is why I told her to tell you I'd call you back soon--I needed time to clear out my tubes.

I'm not feeling light headed anymore, everyone--I spent a great deal of my late morning giving myself cough therapy, and although my ribs and stomach muscles hurt like hell now, I CAN breathe a lot easier now.

I'm sorry I got everyone all worried--I really wasn't thinking too straight when I posted earlier. Otherwise, I wouldn't have posted that and worried you guys needlessly.

Su, I am feeling better now, so please, don't worry, okay? ((Su))

All the clinics close about an hour before Adam gets off work. After 5, it's the E.R. or nothing. I feel better now, though, so I won't be going. I just needed to administer cough therapy. Yuck.

I do worry because I know how awful it is to be ill with kids who are sick too.

You take care of yourself and don't let things go.

I'm watching you. My daughter claims I can't see her from here but she knows better.... moms have special x-ray eyes.

I'm glad you had cough therapy. I think I would rather have a monkey bite than go through what your entire family is feeling. Ugh. I really feel for you, Adam, the kids, and your mom. Geesh. You are suppose to be having fun right now.

I know! And this really, really sucks! The important thing is that she's here, and I can look her in the face when I talk to her:)

Now that Mom is there, I still think you should go to the dr. You might have bronchitus or even pnemonia. Any time the lungs fill up with fluid like that, you need to see a dr.

And don' t talk about worrying us needlessly. We'll decide when to worry, you hear?

BTW, not breathing is leading cause of death.

But I'm better now! Years of watching my brittle asthmatic brother have horrible cough therapy every time he was hospitalized for various infections taught me how to handle it. I must say, 2 hours of forcing myself to cough did a number on me. My whole upper body aches like mad, but I can breath so much better now. I'm taking my mega doses of Vit C, I've eaten enough garlic to choke a horse, and my eyeballs are floating from all the liquid I've ingested. I'm getting better, it just takes time, yanno? Man, I really love you guys.

Hot, hot showers and eucalyptus oil work well for me. I tend to have chronic lung problems (inherited from my mother's father's side of the family, who all die from athsma... hey, at least I know how I'm gonna die, lest other things intervene) so any illness goes straight to the ol' windbags. Baths don't do the trick, it has to be showers, as hot as I can stand 'em.

And a humidifier at night, with more eucalyptus oil.

I'm not sure I believe that homeopathic remedies like that can cure pnemonia, but I do think they can fool you into thinking you are better. If your chest is still wheezy tomorrow, please go to the doctor. It's better to be safe than sorry, and if you are carrying infection you don't want to spread it to the babies.
