Well, towards the end of last week, I was feeling oodles better--the only thing I had left was the need to turn my lungs inside out a couple times a day. Adam never got super bad, except for one night. Darian was starting to improve as well. The only person lagging was Tyler, who couldn't shake the fevers until yesterday.
Saturday, Darian and I took my Mom to the airport up in St. Louis. That was fun >sarcastic laugh here.< It took us 3 hours to reach the city, another 2 to traverse the city, and the same thing in reverse to get home. Ten hours straight of driving. Aren't you all proud of me that I pre-medicated for that trip, and didn't end up confined to my bed for a week after because of migraines?
The really bad thing was that Darian got sick and threw up all over my van, just outside city limits. He'd been complaining since he got up that morning that his belly hurt, and I think it had a lot to do with having to send his soul mate (Grandma) on her way that day.
Until....Sunday. When I felt sick to my stomach all dang day and then some. I finally ended up sucking down nearly half a bottle of Emetrol just so I could stand up without feeling queasy.
Today, no problems in that area, thankfully. I did, however, start my day with a raging sore and swollen throat, which has only gotten worse as the day has gone by. I now have no voice left at all. I sent Darian off to school this morning with the instructions to wipe his eye out with a damp cloth if it bothered him. He appeared to have a clogged tear duct, which is something I get, so I wasn't over-excited about it. Not 30 minutes after he left, we had a freak storm hit and knock out our power for about an hour and a half. Tyler and I felt the lightening hit the transformer on the next street over--that was unsettling, to say the least. Right after I hang up the phone from the power company, the Kindergarten calls me.
"Mrs Harding (um, hello? Darian and I do not share a last name, and it's clearly stated in his records!) I'm afraid we've had a bit of a medical emergency with your son and you'll need to come pick him up right NOW!" Yes, she yelled that last bit at me. WTF?? The school nurse's verdict, as she's telling me that she is NOT a docter, was Pink Eye.
Well crap. I managed to avoid this particular affliction as a child, but it seemed Dare wouldn't be so lucky. So, I had to call Adam at work, have him lose precious work hours to come handle it because I had no vehicle and no carseat to take Tyler in a cab, or else I would have.
Adam took him in to see our pediatrician, and was told it doesn't look like viral pink eye, it looks like a bacterial infection, but just to be on the safe side, he prescribed eye drops. Doc also said it is highly contagious. Darian can't go to school until he's been on the drops for 24 hours. Dammit, as if my short lived attention span child needed to lose out on class time.
I took a nap after fixing some dinner early this evening, and guess who woke up blinded by gunk in her right eye? Yup. C'est moi. *sigh* I can barely see, and will have Adam spell check this and what not before he goes to bed, because I just know my inability to see clearly is playing havoc with my typing skills.
So, my plans for tomorrow are ruined. You know, list some auctions, work on a beaded wand..etc, etc.....
I'm on the verge of asking for a mercy shot here. This unhealthy crap sucks big time.
I hope everyone else is faring better than us poor folks down here in Sucks-a-ton, Misery.
