OT: Vibes fro dental visit

I have an evil dental visit tomorrow - pretty much all the teeth on the upper right side are being worked on. Including one that has a deep "we don't know why it doesn't hurt, you might need a root canal" cavity.

I hate going to the dentist. I stay very tense the whole time. And nitrous and I don't mix. So if you got any to spare, some nice calming, pain-free dental vibes would be appreciated.

Been there, done that! LOTS of vibes coming your way Kathy! I hate the dentisty too, even though I really like the guy I go to. I get so tense, my muscles ache after I get home.

YOU GOT IT. My dentist says that I am so nervous when I come in that I make HIM nervous. LOL.

If you can take it, you might see if you can get a prescription for just one Valium pill. My friend has terrible dentist-anxiety, and the solution for her is a one-dose prescription that she takes an hour before the appointment.

I know I did that to an oral surgeon once. He commented several times I was not "relaxed" enough - well duh. Thanks Becki!

Hmm - a possible idea. Although I think yesterday's appt. was the worst of the work. Thanks Kalera!

Thanks everyone.

I made it trough without too much anxiety - kept thinking about rcb vibes and feeling them :)

The worst was after the shots when the dentist and asst left the room while my mouth was getting numb. I could only hear my heart pounding. Felt like the guy in the tell tale heart!

Felt pretty tired last night- the Novocain took forever to completely wear off. I'm much better today - although my jaw is a little sore.

LOL I creeped out an endodontist once by being *too* relaxed... he kept asking if I was OK because basically I lay down, opened my mouth, and mentally "went away" while they were working. He was afraid I was having sime kind of reaction to the anasthetic.
