Pretty Heart Necklace

That is very pretty. I'm sitting at the desk taking a break from mowing the lawn. Egads! What was I thinking when I wanted a push mower?!!! It's a nice professional mower, but I'm tired and I haven't even started the front yard. :-(

I'm so glad I don't have to mow anymore. Used to have to mow the acreage out in the country. Hated it. Now I have a nice, manageable city lot. Nice deep back yard, but not acreage. LOL!
Plus the fact that I have a yard-working cowboy to handle all that. It's great! And he plants pretty stuff and grows veggies and herbs... I'm not keen on doing that kind of thing.

That is a gorgeous piece of work. I wonder who the lampwork artist is though. They said they only buy lampwork from master artisans, but don't give credit to the artist who made those beads.

I wondered the same thing. It would be nice if that info was listed, and could be a selling point for the work.

I always think so too. If you list the artist's name [who made the hearts], it helps make the jewelry look more precious = higher bids. ~~ Sooz

They look like the work of Gemfox, she does lacy hearts. Very nice!

I don't like it. That one dark heart (garnet? purple?) at the end looks like it weighs down the necklace, if you know what I mean. If it were in the middle, it might have been all right, but I think the necklace would have been worlds better without it.
I'm not a fan of using an even number of dangles (charms, whatever) on a necklace like that, either. Five hearts instead of six would have made it look so much more "balanced."
The lampwork hearts look beautiful, though; and so does the chain. It's simply that one discordant bead that would bug the bejeezus out of me. If it were a piece of mine, I wouldn't be able to call it finished until I had removed the offending bead and spaced the other hearts accordingly.
Just my 2 cents,

This is EXACTLY why I don't make jewelry. I have no built-in sense of this kind of thing. If it sparkles and is shiny, I like it.
I'm a magpie.

I found the whole thing discordant. I assume the jewelry artist was going for a rainbow-colors theme, but those particular shades were just not good together. I love the individual heart beads, but I kept thinking, "*Who* is going to wear that? What the heck would it go with in anyone's closet?" Well, sure, it would go with black, but......I'd pick a whole roomful of other jewelry over that piece if I were choosing something to wear. ~~ Sooz

True - with all of the pale colors, the purple heart would have looked better as lavender.

LOL - I think I was looking at the lampwork more than anything. Now that I look at it again, I would have chosen a cooler pink and a lighter purple.

I agree with you all about it being discordant, etc., and personally I'd want to know who made the beads... if they were annealed... etc... and I'd feature each one in it's own necklace too.
