Holy cow. This guy is AMAZING!
Oh...my...G-d!!!!!!!!!!!
That Golden Book is freaky...but so cool.
don't forget to wave your mouse over the pics...at least in the sculpture there's some hidden mysteries!

(blase voice) Yeah. He's on the Links List. Haw. (exhaling stream of smoke) (except -- I don't smoke. Hmm.)

Oh my god. INCREDIBLE work. And the marketing... oh the marketing... I wonder what his web designer cost him? Sigh.

LOL! Kalera, I wondered exactly the same thing! But after seeing that site, I admit I contacted a couple of web designers to look into sprucing up my site.

Laws-a-mighty, girl, I hope it's not an arm and a leg! I know a bunch of web designers, and they're all so swamped right now that they're charging $75/hr. If I could figure out how to trade Moxley's work for web design for *me*, I would do it in a heartbeat!

Maybe I need to get back into web designing. I am a certified computer geek as DH calls me. LOL I just purchased a new domain and I am in the process of setting up my web pages now, in-between torching sessions. I have to break up my time or I'll never stay on the torch longer than it takes me to make a bead or two.
I want a website like this:

Wow! This is a HUGE eye opener for me!!! So this begs the question: "What is your FAVORITE glass art page?" Not based on the product, mind you, but based on the appearance and functionality of the website.

I can't think specifically of which "one", but I'd offer these:
I want a visual representation of the actual work, not artistic editorialization.
I want a frameless, no intro, no java, no music clickable index with common descriptions for the other pages (ie "catalog", "bio", "how to order")...
of course, when I am looking for a nice, calm moment, I like the webpages that have just nice colors and beautiful photos, but I mostly like tropical seascapes for that! LOL....
here's one I particularly like >wink<
Tink, I can't even GET INTO that website, because it's all Javascript. If this person is selling beads, he or she will never sell one to me.
The big thing to remember about a *business* website is to keep it as easy as possible for the maximum number of customers to use. This means NO Flash, NO Javascript navigation, NO shit that has to be downloaded before someone can enter your website, etc. Remember, you may be a techno-geek, but a lot of your customers won't be.

Bingo! Shopping carts are also nice, but they can be a real PITA to implement. (My partner has been working on one for his site for a couple of *years*, because none of the available packages can handle the way we do bulk discount and shipping.)
And remember, even if you don't do frames, the index list should remain visible on *every* page for ease of navigation. Don't make your customer keep having to hit the "Back" button.
