I was going to suggest that - generally if people complain about things annoying - he tells the advertiser to remove them.

I PARTICULARLY cannot TOLERATE flashing ads.... anywhere - any time - freaks out my brain... I stopped reading the AOL beadboards because of their "reformat" which included a constant and annoying advertising in the upper corner that flashed and changed... that was it - too much for me...(not to mention the entirely annoying powertrip, neo-nazi board monitor...)

I can't either. Bob is the ONLY person I know who removes ads because people complain about them. The only one.

I'm fortunate enough to have missed that one and the others don't even phase me anymore.

I think I'm *very* glad for Proxomitron right now. I have it set to block all pop-ups and all sound files.

MOST times flashing ads can be stopped just by hitting the STOP button on your browser (works for IE and Netscape, anyhoo). But that stupid voice thing didn't respond to the stop button. I do it all the time with other sites with crappy MIDI music (is that redundant?).

Okay, I'll gladly bite....what's Proxomitron, how does it work, and will it work with XP?

freaks out my brain...

I get an instant migraine. And they appear without any warning. ZAP It's over.

yep - that can happen to me too.. if I am lucky - I just get the visual precursor -- but sometimes if triggers a full blown one...

I "heard" it the other night. Very annoying. Hope that it is gone.

Please, e-mail me about this. It's late and we're headed for a con in the morning, but once we get back I can get you the info. (I'd have to ask my partner, and he's already crashed.)

Yep - and those stupid pop-ups that wiggle all over the place, that my pop-up stopper can't see for some reason. Haven't gotten those on Justbeads, yet, thank goodness. Right up there with trailing cursors, pop-ups of any kind (those newfangled ones on high-end commercial web sites that seem to be Flash or Java of some sort - those really piss me off), music that starts without my permission, talking ads, blinking/flashing/marquee ads of any kind. I mean, come on - do those ads really attract anyone?

It's funny 'cause I emailed them to let them know, and the email I got back denied its existence, (they don't accept ads with sound) and suggested I had "picked it up" from another site.

I'm assuming from this that they don't know it talks?

I emailed them again to say that I really didn't think so, and give them more details about the ad, but I haven't heard back.
