The "crampons" are OK, but I know I wouldn't go to the trouble of putting them on every times I went out. They also change how you walk, a little bit, and that change of balance could undo the help it gives you for not slipping. I still recommend the rubber soles.

I ordered a pair of Fisherman's boots from Altec and they arrived yesterday. They are a little big, but look like they will be perfect for traction. And, at $21.95 and free shipping, you can't beat the price! It's raining today, I'll give them a test walk later. Thanks for the suggestion. Patti
