Just to lighten the mood: An old man goes to the local wizard to ask him if he can remove a curse he has been living with for the last 40 years. The Wizard says, "Yes but you must tell me the exact words that were used to put the curse on you." The old man says, without hesitation, "I now pronounce you man and wife."

Even worse: The woman applying for a job in a Florida lemon grove seemed far too qualified for the job. "Look Miss," said the foreman, "have you any actual experience in picking lemons?" "Well, as a matter if fact, yes, I have!" she said. "I've been divorced three times."

I must admit that I`ve made some very good friends through RCTN, for which I`m very grateful, but it has become a little lifeless lately. No-one even seems to have enough energy for a really good argument lately - you could usually bank on at least one lively discussion a month!!!

You certainly can`t expect any group to speak only about one theme - why do you think that there are so many needlework groups who call themselves "Stitch and Bitch"? (They`re all convinced that they are the first ones to think of it! LOL!)

Added to that is the fact that cross stitch at least is not as popular as it once was - like one view of Global Warming, it`s a fairly natural phenomenon. It will probably spiral upwards again eventually.

Now why is it that some folks misfortunes ellicit prayers and good wishes, whilst others just bring forth cries of "Whining"?

Now, now Pat, you know I love a good argument, and global warming is a red rag to a bull!! The earth's climate is controlled exclusively by the sun, nothing to do with CO2, and we are entering another Little Ice Age. Global temperatures peaked in 1998, have not gone up since, and are certainly not rising as fast as the "warmers" predict. I will not see it, but by the 2050's they will be celebrating ice fairs on the Thames, like they did in 1783.

fossil....yes, there are similarities.

Ahhh, the quintessential double standard! LOL

The first ones to throw the "whiner" accusations at me are so horribly predictable that, honestly, it cracks me up to see how quickly they jump to do so!

I can't help but wonder what benefit they believe they are getting from their behavior?

They`ve certainly noticeably increased here, Jim. I`ve never known such a warm winter as we had this year or last Yes, I agree that we`re in a "normal" spell of natural global warming, but I`m convinced it`s exacerbated by pollution. The worst pollution is the increasing world population!!! Personally (and this will be as popular as a pork sausage in a synagogue!) I feel that financial aid to Africa etc., should be conditional on strong insistance on birth control!

I was very impressed by an African leader (sorry, didn`t catch his name) on BBC World who said that in his opinion aid to Africa did them no favours - it gave them no incentive to improve things for themselves.

You may have been over there, Elizabeth, but I`ve heard of several this side of the pond! LOL!

Africa has plenty of resources but its leaders tend to hog them.

I'd agree, but then I'd be accused of some other abhorent behavior beyond whining I'm sure! ;-)

I don't agree. What ever her name was that did like her class being "ignored" surely was whining. I admit I had been too. I got hugs and she got the catcalls....

Leave it to you, Bruce, leave it to you! LOLOLOL!

BTW, I've passed those links about MS & cannabis on to a couple people I know who suffer from MS! Not that they will really be interested! :):):)
