I'm back

It was just a usenet perception thing. It sounded as if the cat was an afterthought. I am glad to hear she has a well thought out name, I get very tired of Fluffys and Smokeys etc. I am certainly not surprised that she is the lead animal though.

I am not a big cat person really. I always had dogs throughout my life. Bucket came 14 years ago, wished on me by my elder daughter who worked with the woman who had tried to drown him. I admit I have grown fond of him over the years and he has redeemed cats in my opinion lol When he departs, I readily admit I shall miss him and his cranky ways.

Aksamite ~ very good, I like it !

Actually it was Lucretia who posted that. How odd - I thought that Seanette had her killfiled!

I like that - quite clever! I wonder if the word has its roots in samite.

And if you want a really funny mental image - DS carrying around a Shitzu snuggled up against his face.

On the level of how awful it smells as opposed to what it smells like, I would put it a level above teenaged boys feet - it's that bad lol

No. It was me who posted that skunk smells like an electrical fire. Seanette would have seen the bit of Lucretia's post that I quoted in answering it. But people do change their killfiles for various reasons, so one should never assume that they're permanent.

My DH had a German Shepard Dago (pronounce dawgo, meaning good) - supposed similar to Fido in German.

Careful now Pat! Or you will be back in the box!

Actually she won't answer for awhile, she went out to take John to get his second cataract done.

Thanks. I should have known that, but I'll blame it on my dog. Right now he's resting from having a terribly hard time chasing away the guys who were mowing the grass in the back of his house.

But he managed to bark them away and now they're gone.

There must be something wrong with my cat. She comes when she is called. Always has.

Elizabeth (also a dog person. Perhaps that's why I have a reliable recall on my cat.)

Be thankful. Cat bites are evil. I intervened in a cat-dog fight (bad idea) last month and Maggie, aka Maggot-breath, chomped into my finger. $40 of antibiotics later, I have a fridge full yogurt, and yeast free spelt/rye bread - trying to get my body systems back into balance. Note: The bread slices amazingly thin. Dora

My nieces when they were younger named one of their cats Cutie. My brother really did not enjoy hiking down the road yelling "Cutie! Cutie!". I think the next cat was Oscar. Dawne
