I'm back

My friend had it some years back and wound up spending almost two weeks in the hospital. They thought it was Lympohoma and had to do all kinds of sophisticated testing to finally determine that it was from her daughter's cat.

I trust John's cataract surgery went well. I hope he heals quickly.

Ooh nasty! Yes I knew that, even cat scratches can sometimes be difficult to heal. I just find I don't heal as rapidly as I used to. Make sure your yogurt is made with an acidopholus culture, it's the best. I can usually find one in a stupidmarket but you need to read the label to be sure.

Thanks. I was at the health food store yesterday to pick up 'specially yogurty yogurt. I'm also popping a couple of acidphilus capsules a day.

Thanks, Lucille - it went fine! Different surgeon this time, so everything was done a little differently (which panicked him a bit and zoomed his blood pressure up pretty horrendously!) This one didn`t inject an anaesthetic behind the eye but used drops - so this time John could just about see everything that was happening.

They didn`t cover the eye with gauze this time - just put a plastic cap over it, so he could pretty much see the results right away. Nothing on it at all today, and he`s about to throw his glasses out, I think! He can see to read the paper without his glasses this morning! He`s thrilled to bits with it. I`m glad he went first - it will be my turn before long!

I bet your friend is very careful with her daughter`s cat. It`s not something you think too much about, normally, but I used to breed Siamese, and came across it now and then in the cat breeding world. -it made us all very aware that cat scratches should be cleaned immediately and closely watched. I`m afraid that a kitten (or puppy) who scratched or bit me for pushing it off my keyboard would soon find out that that was NOT a wise move! A good loud shout, or in extremis, a slap on the backside, soon gets the message home!

Oh good. I'm glad I'm not the only one who had that reaction to that post. I can't imagine my cat thinking she could push me around like that, not it my house while I'm paying for her food, anyway.
