OT: book recommendation

This book deserves attention, but it's flying way under the radar:

"Someone Knows My Name," by Laurence Hill

's the life story of a woman who was stolen from her home in Africa and sold into slavery during the colonial period. She kept alive a dream of returning to Africa someday in spite of many personal losses and hardships. It is a story from a new (to me) perspective. sue

Thanks for the recommendation, but I'm not sure it's been published in English! Barnes and Noble sells it only in French.

Susan What a Pity , Simone` Grandmaother Was A slave , and part of the story circles around that part of her life.I do hope that one day it will be translated into a langugage you can read. About 2 years i reread "Uncle Tom`s Cabin ". As a child i read the Hebrew transaltion , And suspected it was Conceited a bit, as it was considered a Children`s book. I was very impressed by the Original American version. mirjam
