And you are the poster child for self-control?

I was giving advice based on a successful marriage, one in which my husband has learned to accept my stitching as a personal necessity. I have never met Cheryl's husband, but I know that mine tends to be easier to deal with if I use reason rather than threats.

I don't care who gives bad advice, if I have better advice, I'll give it.

I"m not allowed to give advice as someone who's been successfully married to my one and only for almost 20 yrs? A man who I've finally convinced my stitching is necessary to my mental health?

Just saying that with my track record, perhaps I had a better way to handle the situation.

Why don't you try some self-control yourself, eh?

Detective series?

I remember her from A Fine Romance, which I adored. C

I remember seeing an interview with one actor who was TERRIFIED at the prospect of playing opposite her, who says she`s the kindest, warmest, funniest actress he`s ever come across - with a great propensity for giggling at the wrong moment! I always think that all these qualties shine through in whatever she does.

Wasn`t she wonderful as Queen Victoria?

True, she does have that twinkle in her eye!

I can picture it, but can't remember which movie it was!

I can picture her as a bit of a prankster...just something about her suggests that she lets a wicked sense of humor out to play fairly often!

Don`t miss her in "Ladies in Lavender" if you ever get the chance. I`ve just bought "Iris" but haven`t watched it yet.

Judi Dench did the Shipping News up in Newfoundland and they loved her as a person. She was in Toronto a couple of years later and made a special side trip back to Newfoundland to see the people - they loved her for it. Apparently one of the things she did was bake bread for everyone, all the time.
