Felicity Kendall or the other one? Giving my Mom & Dad the DVDs for The Good Neighbors for Xmas, I think my Dad has a tiny crush on Felicity.

True. She did another show that we saw here - The Hettie Wainwright Mysteries - she plays a detective - with a young guy sidekick. Pretty good, and definitely a 180 from "the Bucket woman"

Yup - that's it. She is so very adorable in that show. I knew it wasn't Penelope Keith.

Penelope Keith was the snooty neighbour in that. Also in "To the Manor Born". They just don`t make quality sit-coms like that these days, do they?

My DH has always had an ENORMOUS crush on her! LOL! He never watches such things normally, but if Felicity Kendall is in it, he`ll watch! Did you know that she is the cousin of the late Kay Kendall, who starred in "Genevieve"? (About the London to Brighton Veteran Car race).

The young guy sidekick was one of the main Hobbits in Lord of the Rings - did you recognise him? He has a very distinctively crooked face. (can`t remember if he was Pippin, Meriadoc, Peregrine, or .... one of that quartet, anyway)

I think I am one of the rare ones who cannot *stand* Judi Dench. Somehow or other, she absolutely infuriates me!!!!

That's okay. I will like you anyway, even though you have bad taste in actresses.

Yes, and he's one of the stars of LOST - tv show here (which we don't watch). Dominic Monaghan - and he played Merry. And I guess I should correct my earlier - I think it's Hettie Wainthropp - don't know why I typed Wainwright - at least I got the first part...

It's like recognizing that the googly-eyed actor from the British "The Office" plays one of the "dead" pirate crew members in both of the Pirates of the Caribbean. But no idea his name.

Probably the same idea , they thought that this way it , all will have it at about the same time

Can`t help you - I only watched it omce and hated it! Yes - it IS Hettie Wainthropp, alias the wonderful Patricia Routledge. Have you seen her in "Woman of no Importance"? She has a wonderful singing voice too, and gives the all too rare concert.

I felt that part did not do justice for her, she is far better than that.

In one of the Hettie Winthropp episodes they have her sing a solo with a chorus. I think Woman of no Importance was on here, but I don't recall actually seeing it.

The Office - in many aspects too real -though clearly a bit exagerated - but sadly, I must say - not too much. ellice

It's always possible. Last summer a cousin rented a beautiful Scottish castle, it included all the servants, cook, butler, nanny etc. They were there for two weeks, their four children and spouses came bringing all their children. She said it was wonderful for two weeks to live in unimaginable splendour and not have to think about cooking, cleaning etc.

It was her way of having all her family round her so that she could enjoy it too to the fullest for she tells me she will soon be gone with colon cancer. Too sad but what a great idea.

I always liked Waiting For God, another good one.

Now, I DO like Penelope Keith. IIRC she was in two or three of those sit-coms. I also liked the older couple, whose names I forget, in Waiting For God!
