Mrs PP,

You are welcome , Please HEAL.

This reminds me that when i was small and lived in a Kibboets [ a communitive settlement] where all kids lived in children`s houses, once a child was sick , they invited all to co,e and hoped the whole class will get it at once and that it will be easier to handle ,,,

Yes heard this one.

Thank you , pretty nice , we are now celebrating the Festival of all Holidays .[all 3 faiths]. And Next week i participate in a Photographs Exhibition , to remind people [ and esp the government] of our 3 kinapped boys still held by their captors. mirjam

Cate Blanchett -- played Elizabeth I in the movie of the same name, played Kate Hepburn in The Aviator (biography of Howard Hughes). She's quite talented.

I can for the life of me remember the movie where she had this wicked funny role - I can't even think of the plot, but was SO outside her usual sphere and so very funny.

I have to admit I always assumed the changing color hair was in the form of wigs and rinse outs.

I remember it now - yes it was funny - shows that have very human subjects, that you can envision happening to friends or family always go well I think. That's why shrieking sitcoms leave me cold, too far fetched and stupid. Or at any rate, they don't relate to anything in my ken.

That`s the one - where the other actor (Lionel) was terrified of working with her when it started. They work perfectly together though. It`s still repeating over here - we never get tired of it. As you say, so much like real life. Now FRIENDS always left me cold - couldn`t stand it - so PLASTIC. The actor who plays Lionel was a Royal Marines Officer before he became an actor.

We have something starting next week with Colin Firth (Mr. Darcy in Pride and Prejudice.) Can`t wait!

ROFLMAO - while her feisty attitude might do - something about the persona just didn't match my mental image. Between the flounced blouse, the hair, and tales of her pussy, weeeelllll.....She was on some fundraiser or show about women in British comedies I saw on PBS a while back. Very well spoken, and nicely dressed, etc - it's funny compared with the hysterical Mrs. Slocum - how sometimes you forget actresses are just that..

Yes, but then about 3 years ago she was on a series that aired on the PBS mystery set. She plays a detective, along with another younger woman. I'll have to think about the name. She was the serious one - IIRC - they didn't start out to be a private detective agency - but it happened. I think the series had their 2 last names as the name of the show. Probably maded in the 90s. I'll look for it.

And then there's Rosemary & Thyme - the gardeners who end up solving mysteries - which stars the woman that was in "Good Neighbors" .

I think that was on PBS here. I know that we saw it on TV, not in a theater.

Ah, well - you can never know. Butshe is one of my favorite actresses.

That's Judi Dench.

I''ve seen Annette Crosby in a lot of more classic type programs - kind of the Henry James or George Eliot novel brought to the screen. She's pretty distinctive, smallish, blonde, attractive - kind of pert but not cutesy at all. Does a good stern look She was great in One Foot in the Grave.

I'll have to look up the name of this other series. It was kind of clever.

I saw Hyacinth Bucket on a regular talk show and it was terribly hard to appreciate she was not Hyacinth lol

Aha - I knew that I'd find the other Annette Crosbie link. It was the TV version of the PD James novel, An Unsuitable Job for a Woman.

She also played the no-nonsense housekeeper in the more recent version of "Doctor Finlay`s Casebook". She`s very talented and is excellent in any kind of genre.
