Re: Dear Red States

You didn't have to. It's obvious from your attituded.

My bad for using the verb declare. You don't declare it but it drips from every statement you write here.

Elizabeth

Hmmm .... same here. To be specific, a Forensic Psychologist. Shall we compare credentials?

If Lois hasn't picked up on NPD, and possibly, HPD, she might not have as much experience as she thinks. I'd even possibly go so far as to say Cluster B.

BTW, I missed her post stating that. Could you please cite it for me? I'd love to see what else she wrote.

Unfortunately for Lois' viewpoint, unless she's actually met you in person in a clinical setting, she hasn't the ability, professionally, to say that you DON'T exhibit signs of PD.

Granted, I can't reasonably diagnose you via posts, either. But I CAN compare the statements you've made to the guidelines in the DSM. And NPD, from your posts here, is a shoo-in.

In Lois' defense, she probably has known you longer. Or perhaps, this spate of self-pitying drivel is unlike you normally. Perhaps you're going through an unreasonably difficult rough patch. IF that IS the case, your behavior could be an isolated incident. But since so many others have constantly opined that this is how you ALWAYS are, I'd say NPD for sure.

Look at it this way: it just gives you another condition to complain about and use as a mechanism for excusing your self-righteousness and "superiority" over everyone else on the planet. ;)

Ah. So YOU can judge HER by HER attitude, yet its unreasonable for others to judge YOU by YOUR attitude?

Gotcha.

I don't think anybody really cares what you're dealing with anymore.

You long ago wore out any ability you had to elicit sympathy with me and your attempts to educate people come across as whining. It's too bad, really, because you could be doing a huge service to others with your condition, but instead you manage to so thoroughly alienate at least some readers here, that you probably create more prejudice than you dispell.

I'm sorry that you're sick, but being sick has little to do with your overbearingly opininated statements about anything and everything and the offensive nature of the sweeping generalizations you make based on extraordinarily limited experience with the world outside your home.

I don't think that you've even considered that with your stupid "Red States" post, you targeted one of the few people here who genuinely likes you, implying that she's stupid and biggoted when you're the one who's behaving in a stupid and biggoted manner. I hope you've at least apologized to her in email since you're apparently not a big enough person to apologize to the rest of us.

Elizabeth

Continually prattling on about it and using it as a mechanism to avert blame/accountability for your actions?

Yes. It is.

Awww!!! This native NY'er says it's okay with me if you take offense at all the bigoted blathering, sweeping generalization and whining. Especially since you're speaking for me too and I don't mind that at all.

Lucille

Unless you're auditioning for the latest Afternoon Special or LifeTime network movie, I don't think anyone's interested in the minute details.

Why? Because your attitude repels care and concern. Most people don't care so much about the malady or illness as much as they care about the humanity and triumph of spirit that defies the malady.

Neither of which do you have.

If you were to care for others and be nurturing or supportive to others "better off than you" - you would be lauded. If you were to be compassionate to others in a self-less manner -- you would be cheered and loved.

Instead, you use your malady to excuse your awful attitude and rail at others for being insulted by your pomposity and arrogance. Neither of which makes for a very good LifeTime movie, I'm sad to say.

Oh geesh, where was the spew warning? Now get over here and clean the coffee of my monitor, hehehe.

Love in Stitches,

Coleen

I have to say here (she'll likely kill me for it) Lucille is your perfect example. I don't believe most people here know the travails she has/is overcoming but yet, she never complains, uses it as an excuse. She has my total admiration as a consequence. Well, that's even though she likes fashion and makeup hee hee !

You better hide behind the drapes and watch out for flying objects.

Here's a ton of smileys, just for you---:-? ;^) (_()_) 8

I take it all back, you're a mean bitch lol

Now that's more like it. But in the words of my friend: That's Miss Bitch to you!!!

Apparantly, I wasn't clear enough -- If you were well, you couldn't spend hours and hours on a computer regurgitating toxic waste over and over and over again.

Karen dear, you've been so forthcoming about so many details of your life, how is it that you've never told us why you didn't finish law school? Did you flunk out? Did you fall in love with a no goodnik and drop out?

Does that make me Dr. Bitch?

Elizabeth

Well, gee, I'd say that the above is a characteristic of most of the opinions you post here.

Elizabeth

Um, no. Someone who CLAIMED to be professionally qualified....on the internet, nobody knows you're a dog.

Elizabeth

So you say.

Being qualified to take the Bar Exam and passing the Bar Exam are two different things. Come tell us how qualified you are after you've passed it.

Elizabeth

Unhuh.... And does she know that you've engaged in the extremely poor netiquette of using her words in a forum other than the one to which she posted them?

Elizabeth

Why is it always someone else's fault when you go on one of your health tirades? You posted something offensive to the group because you have CFS? Or is it just that you're incapable of apologizing because you have CFS? Or is it that CFS has nothing at all to do with the whole thing and you're hiding behind it rather than admit that you exhibited poor judgement in making the post you did?

[snipped]

Name one. Name JUST ONE person who brings health issues up as often as you do.

Elizabeth
