In other words, you didn't want to finish putting your time in to get the degree, but you think that somehow you've earned the right to the recognition that comes with the degree. People like you make me sick.

Well if I walked like a purple spotted giraffe and talked like a purple spotted giraffe, it would be a reasonable assumption that I was a purple spotted giraffe.

Does "Lois" come to RCTN, reading every single one of your ad nauseam CFS explanations you've posted continuously over the years?? Yes, ONCE it's an explanation. 4000 times and it no longer is.

Acting as Devil's Advocate this would depend upon whether or not you knew what a purple spotted giraffe looked like and how a purple spotted giraffe walked. It would also depend upon whether other folk believed that there was such a thing as a purple spotted giraffe (and if they did, would they be correct?) Deep philosophical thoughts...

And what's so bad about being a purple spotted giraffe. With the proper education and a good upbringing you may just see a purple spotted giraffe grow up to be President some day..

Maybe if I had a few more glasses of wine I would see/believe in purple spotted giraffes. Be a bit more interesting than the old Pink Elephant lol

Oh my, yet another episode of victimization
Ah, I see it now -- you were so enamored of the law that you were willing to do the work of a lawyer at a fraction of the pay

Funny, your response when people said they were offended was "oh well." You say you will apologize, yet you did not.
Firestorm? I think you're exaggerating.
Schoolyard bullies? That's the same damned underhanded accusation that turned me against you in the first place. Nobody here thinks you're helpless. Careless, thoughtless, self-absorbed, sure, but not helpless.
Nobody has accused you of posting daily health bulletins. But a diatribe about what you're "up against" because people accuse you of being rude and offensive seems a bit extreme to me.

You didn't have to say it. It's obvious from your attitude.
I didn't put words in your mouth, I didn't say that you said that - I said you think it. Don't put words in my mouth.
Actually, you rarely say that you're a paralegal. You make little attempt to be specific about what you do, which might lead some people to think that you would like to be seen as a lawyer. I'm sure you'll say that's there problem, but I suspect you enjoy the abiguity.
I could certainly be teaching if I only had half a degree. Don't kid yourself. I wouldn't be a tenured associate professor, but I could be teaching.
The point is that you claim that you could be admitted to the bar - in fact, that assumes facts not in evidence.

And how is that relevant here? The only thing I've seen anyone say you should do in this thread is apologize for offending people, which you STILL haven't done.

Another woman who attended law school in less enlightened times was me. The Dean told me at the admission interview that women had no place in law school. I proved him wrong. When I graduated, he arranged for me to article with his son in law (we were refused jobs too), because I had earned his respect. This despite the fact I never owned a power suit, had a baby while at law school (between terms), and was a liberal hippy feminist to his conservative establishment male.
I would have thought that an "all my best friends are men/I can't stand all of that wishy washy female crap/I am a much better communicator that the average woman/I am the one they always sent in to negotiate" woman would have toughed it out. I am none of the above, and I did, with the help and support of the most of handful of women in my class. (The men considered our studying and researching together to be cheating, because everybody knows that it is every man for himself.) The few women in my school who chose to put down and belittle other women and act like one of the boys were much more popular with the faculty, including the Dean.
Maybe you had not acquired that world view when you were in law school??

"Repeating it till it sinks in" IS whining. Especially when NO ONE CARES. You're worse than a little kid whining for a toy at the store. You just will not stop until everyone gives in to you, will you?

Of course, because *some* people found it amusing, why wouldn't we all? For all we know, you could have picked up in a democratic political forum, or a California forum, in which case, it probably was deemed funny. I could go and pick up an anti-gay joke in some anti-gay forum that was deemed funny there. It does not make it funny nor appropriate for RCTN. I'm also not about to tell Jewish jokes to Jewish people. Not that I would tell racial or religious jokes in the first place, I'm just using it as example. It's common sense.
That was in a completely different thread. Not this one. And I don't recall anyone pouncing on that "innocuous statement".
Your health status is never a "passing mention". No one ever accused you of "never talking about anything except your health problems". We have, however, accused you of talking about it excessively. It isn't how many individual posts you make that mention your health, its the great lengths you go to to elaborate your ills and all the medical research you've done, over and over, and how you've been so wronged by society because of it. Most normal people simply just say "I haven't been feeling well lately" or "wish me luck at the doctor". You don't need to go into this tirade each and every single time your health comes up in a conversation. You also do not need to hijack every other person's posts of illness with your own. Frankly, if I posted how sick I was and then you came along and posted how much sicker you were, I'd be pissed. It's like showing the bride up at her own wedding, so to speak.
Doesn't the fact that ANY group complains that you talk too much about your health resonate with you?? To me, that'd be a big red flag something was wrong with ME, not with THEM. We're not "schoolyard bullies". We're adults that frankly are sick of having it pounded into our heads how sick you are. Get a clue. We don't want to hear it. And NO ONE in this group thinks you're a helpless victim. And I repeat, you're constant barrage of CFS "facts" is not a "passing mention".
You just don't get it.

But it's okay for you to put words in our mouth?
Doing what lawyers do, like litigating in a courtroom? Actually, previously you used to say you were a "legal secretary". Which is it? Paralegal or legal secretary?
All the work and none of the pay? Yeah, that's not to love.

So you left your DBF in the dust while he was busting his ass to make something of himself for another man? That's admirable. I bet every guy wishes they had such a supportive girlfriend as you were. No wonder all your "friends" have left you high and dry in your moments of need as well. What comes around, goes around....

my, my, my!!! first you're another Betty Friedan; now you're in the same category as a Supreme Court Judge.
I won't plonk (aka killfile) you as you're good for a laugh or two but have decided that I won't support your need to be the center of attention, for awhile at least, by responding to your inanities. Have a good day.

Quoting Karen:
"No, I can't solve the problem by moving in with them; their house is full of stairs. No, I can't solve the problem moving in with my other best friend; she's in a second-floor walk-up. No, I can't solve the problem by moving into a condo ... the reasonably-priced ones around here are all two-story units, and I don't have a million bucks to buy into the ones that aren't. No, I can't move into assisted living where the units are accessible; I'm not old enough. No, I can't get into accessible government housing for senior/disabled; you have to be on government Disability benefits to qualify and I'm not."
Have I missed something in all these years of reading RCTN? Why aren't you qualified for government disability?
