DBF's sales calls took him to a shopping center shared with a Joanns and a couple blocks from a LNS.

Our family is expecting a new little one, and IT'S A BOY!!!!, so I picked up some blue/green/aqua/lavender (color name Ocean) yarn to make a blanket, and matching aqua yarn (to be trimmed with Ocean) for a sweater. Got some sock yarn for myself, too.

Then on to LNS, where I bought the floss for the baby sampler to hang on GreatGrandma's wall. I've done the girls' with plum/dark olive/magenta, so picked up plum/dark olive/blue for the boy's. Now just have to assemble assorted elements that look more boy-y than the hearts and flowers I did for the girls. I suppose I could concoct some little plum boats on little blue waves, maybe a checkerboard pattern, wing a few other geometric patterns. Fill in the alphabet from the photo of the first one. Since I traditionally give these to the GGPs for Grandparents Day, I have time on that. (Baby's due in June.)

That yarn sounds great - which brand.

Really - the last time I did a little fondling, the Red Heart felt awful rough.

The baby set I made for my upcoming DGD is made from TLC Baby Amore, which is made by Red Heart, but is *very* soft and sort of nubby, like a finer version of Baby Clouds, if you've ever seen/worked with that.

Which LNS...is there one around here that I've missed??

I was there back in April. A friend and I stopped on our way to a stitching retreat in South Tahoe. Did you know there is a yarn store a few blocks away? Walk up the hill and it is on the same side of the street as Kelsey's.

Kelsey's gives a 10% EGA discount, but they don't tell you. You will miss it if you don't mention it.
