Tea stain is gone

I'm glad it worked. It's very distressing to find marks on old linens. I have a pair of pillowcases that a great-great aunt embroidered, and my grandmother trimmed with crocheted lace, and they yellowed in patches because I had them wrapped in tissue that wasn't acid free. Call that a learning experience. They are now fixed and wrapped in proper, acid free wrapping paper. I'll keep the oxyclean in mind for the next time I have a tea stain to deal with.

Down in the basement, I have my mother in laws family linens. Some have to be more than 150 years old and I am going to wash them in orvus and oxy and use old sheets (also washed in orvus) to repack them. Not today or tomorrow, but someday.

There must be some beautiful things in there. I love having things that have been passed down through the family. I'm now off to see what oxyclean can do for the strawberry stains on the little one's trousers. She got into a fresh quart of berries when my back was turned, and boy, did she have fun!

Actually, try Zout for fruit and food stains in general. And for grease, nothing beats it. Useless on ink/paint though

For ink, try Amodex. It's the only thing I know that actually helps with Sharpie.

I'm not familiar with Amodex, either, but if it works on ink stains, I'll happily hunt for it! Where do you get it?

I like aerosol hairspray for ink, at least for ballpoint ink.
