Bears Paw quilt layouts

Sep 20, 2005 2 Replies

I've got 20 beautiful Bears Paw blocks and would appreciate some 'expert' help with arranging them into a quilt for ME. I am looking for ideas for placing them on point or any other unusual borders etc. I'm thinking of adding another four blocks so as to have a non-square layout. Do any of the group have some photos to share? All help appreciated, Sally in Tasmania

My blocks are 12¼" finished (I think), most were made for my birthday by our local quilters birthday group, the pattern was from the book 'Around the Block' second largest size block - excellent book by the way. All with different beige tones backgrounds and every block a different colour but all tone on tone fabrics were used. They are so crisp and nice! Cheryl I really appreciate the time you have taken on EQ5...I have the programme and just don't take the time to finish learning it and using it, shame on me! Your layouts are great and three of them are definately along the lines of what I want to end up with. The onpoint with shadow was a new idea, thanks, plus I really like the idea of using a pieced border, not just finishing off with a print. This will turn into a large quilt but it will be used on my own queen size bed and I don't want just a topper. Anyway you have prompted me to use the programme. Plus..in today's mail I've received the Karen K. Stone quilts EQ5 projects and palettes and book......surely that should make me make time or collecting these cd's will become like buying fabric! LOL Bye, Sally in Tassie
