Butterfly! my first effort at quilting.

I got the top for my quilt done but before I sandwich it together I thought I had better have a practice on something smaller.

So with a few squares I had left over I decided to make a pillow sham, although it could double as a cot quilt.

I got DH to make me an extension table for my machine. Cost about a third of buying one custom made. On my website there is a picture of the table being fitted for size. It is clear but the blue protective film has to be removed.

Also there is a picture of my first attempt at quilting. Very simple but do not look too close. LOL.

Pictures come under Other craft heading.

I'm not Butterfly! but I did have a peep at your first little quilt. Well - that's so pretty Shirley. I love the border colour. All first quilts are special; so this one is no exception. Am eager now to see the full-size quilt. . In message , Shirley Shone writes

Thanks Patti, Maybe I should not have put butterfly but then again it could have meant a butterfly quilt.

I do not think anyone could expect one not to open a a post addressed to someone on a public forum. LOL

I think the big one will have to wait until after Christmas now. I am busy knitting silver wire bracelets which are also on my website.

I have 4 hospital appointments in the first two weeks in the new year.

No problem it was intended for anyone but Butterfly and I have known each other a few years, and I said I was not a quilter. Thanks Shirley

I'm not Butterfly, either, but I had a peek at our quilt. What pretty colors! And your quilting looks really good! :) The extension table your DH made for you looks great -- nice and *big*!

And I remember sending her some fabric in exchange for my Shirley Shone beaded butterflies and I KNEW someday she WOULD be making a quilt and we never said what size it had to be--other than she would do it and I'M SO GLAD SHE DID!!!!!

Butterfly (who still gets stopped when I use the butterfly purse being asked WHERE I got it . I just tell them that its a "Shirley Shone of England" : )
