Calling all Bernina junkies

Is that all?? Within the past year (all emergencies) I was gifted with a new roof, new cesspool AND a new fridge.

Yup, I'll bet you're right, Taria -- this would be just the sort of thing Frank would buy for Brenda for Christmas, if she wants it!

I must admit, I've always been a bit envious of Frank's Brenda.... VBG He's VERY good to her- in all ways, it seems!

I think buying your DH a new sewing machine is a splendid thing to do; I've been buying them for my sweetheart for more than 50 years. He'll probably get me an air-conditioned John Deere for our anniversary. What a dear man. Polly

Yeh, I know, its an old thread... Won't buy Brenda one of these. That's because her new Gammill arrived yesterday. It was also set up by a studly young ex-Marine. Frank Reid

Hey, Frank! Good to see you, again. I guess we were trying to get a good and early start on making your Christmas gift shopping easier. Is it about time for you to start asking for suggestions? Lucky, lucky Brenda- both for the new Gammill and for getting to watch that young hottie working.... and flexing his arms.... and walking around... and bending over..... and..... VBEG

Well, I can say that my 20-year-old daughter was VERY appreciative. Something about "he was pretty." Oh, she liked the machine too. (Classic Plus with the king size table and the hydraulic lift kit) Frank Reid (now, what can I get? I think we have a "toy" war brewing)

Okay, Frank -- I'd say that a Gammill does negate the need for the new Bernina. Good luck finding something else, though! LOL!

Well, she's going to an exotic location (Des Moines, IA) for the Paducah II in October. The house and job have taken a lot of her time, so the kid home for the summer from college has been doing a majority of the quiliting. My goal is to give her some time to quilt and watch the Red Sox (she's watching the Sox, not me). I'm sure that there are "accessories" for the Gammill that I'll be buying, along with those ginormous rolls of batting. Frank "empty pockets" Reid

Hey there Frank, hope you all are doing well. Check these folk out for batting rolls:

How about the new Long Beach show next summer? I hear rumors the show signed on there for 8 more years. Taria

It's good to hear that you're still spoiling Brenda, "empty pockets"! :D

Sounds like we need to get her into the baseball swap! Quite a few BoSox fans in the group.

(Cubbies fan, myself)

Well, Brenda's repy: "Yankees Suck!" Frank Reid

They're called TTWLTH (The Team We Love To Hate) in the group -- she'd fit right in. :) (Of course, the Yankees fans call them TTEELTH -- The Team Everyone Else Loves To Hate. LOL!)

Which reminds me of a joke from the Car Talk Lame Joke archive:

A Red Sox fan liked to amuse himself by scaring every Yankees' fan he saw strutting down the street in an obnoxious NY pinstripe shirt. He would swerve his van as if to hit them, then swerve back just missing them. One day while driving along, he saw a priest. He thought he would do a good deed, so he pulled over and asked the priest, "Where are you going, Father?" "I'm going to give Mass at St. Francis Church, about two miles down the road," replied the priest.

"Climb in, Father. I'll give you a lift!"

The priest climbed into the passenger seat, and they continued down the road. Suddenly, the driver saw a Yankees' fan walking down the road, and he instinctively swerved as if to hit him. But, as usual, he swerved back onto the road just in time. Even though he was certain that he had missed the guy, he still heard a loud THUD. Not knowing where the noise came from, he glanced in his mirrors but still didn't see anything. He then remembered the priest, and he turned to the priest and said, "Sorry Father, I almost hit that Yankees' fan." "That's OK," replied the priest "I got him with the door."

For those folks in the UK, replace Yankees with Man United and Red Sox with Newcastle. Thanks, great joke (it was a joke, right?) Frank Reid

Only the priest and the Sox fan know for sure. ;-)

DH, who usually just rolls his eyes and tolerates me reading jokes from the 'net, LOL'd at that one!
