Directory is now closed

Sep 16, 2006 21 Replies

The form to the Directory is now closed. We had 285 entries, including some duplicates, but the last entry was made last night at 10:56 pm from New Hampshire! Reminds me of trying to make a bid on eBay at the last, possible moment!

But thanks to all who submitted a form, or two, or three.......

I will now start to test the emails and review the entries. In the case of duplicate entries, the last submission will be considered the "official" entry. Everyone should receive only one email test. It will take some time to get through them all, so be patient.

Thanks Alice. Hope the next stage goes smoothly for you. . In message , AliceW writes

Well, now that could not have been the Directory closing, since I did it very early this morning and was very quiet so I didn't wake anyone! I don't expect too many issues with the email testing, but then we are dealing with several hundred people and you know what that means! Ah, human nature, it's a wonderful thing!

Alice -- when you are ready to start formatting your documents... please let me know if I can help at all. I'm pretty adept (was a Microsoft User Specialist in a past life) with both Word and Excel and Access. So I can help layout documents in any way you would like.

Just let me know.

Thanks....

Wow, Alice, you rock, girl!! The last directory had 223, and I thought that was a lot. Is this our biggest directory so far? I have most of them saved. I should go back and see, huh? Now we will all sit patiently with our hands folded in our laps and wait for your email and NOT post 42 messages to the group on " Ididn'tgetanemailfromyou, whine, whine"! Right??!! THANK YOU for all the work you and LN do for this! Love ya both!!

Howdy!

Directory? There's a directory? *snortle*

Now we can watch for posts that say, "When's the next directory?!?!!?!?!!?" and "Did I miss it?!!!??" Ought to be at least as interesting as the nagging about On Topic and who's a quilter (check GoogleRCTQ before deciding that someone is NOT a quilter, or see if someone HAS posted about quilting, no matter how rude were that person's follow-up responses ) and skipping over the rest of the insults and dirt throwing & nagging (and btw, this ng does not "vote 'em off the island", so some people may need a better reality show ).

Directory: does it have pictures of quilts? Fabric? Like a catalog? This could be interesting... wish they had a catalog for the Really Big Quilt Show in Houston.

Ragmop/Sandy-- with quilting fingers on Cruise control while I skip along and move the mouse, taking a short break from handquilting Jan's grandmother's 9-Patch ;-)

Have any tests been sent out prior to this? The reason I ask is I got something directory directory in my mail and zapped it without even looking but it didn't look like a test e mail from here. And then again maybe I didn't get in the directory with the way things have been going on here and lack of reading the group. Michele from Ohio

Did I miss the posts about "did I miss it?" When's the next post about the next directory? ;-)

You're such a gem, Alice...........

I haven't done anything this time around. It's all Alice. Thank God. I sprained my ankle yet again last night. Second time since February. :(

I am going to check GoogleRCTQ to check on posting history. Not everyone who submitted a form gets into the Directory this time around. As in the past, the Directory is provided to those who routinely post and are actively involved in quilting. Since the primary purpose of the Directory is to be able to 'squish' folks for birthdays, good wishes or for absolutely no reason at all, giving the Directory to a non-quilter doesn't make sense.

So, I am in the vetting process right now.

Michele, I haven't sent you a test email yet and the Directory is now way near being ready to send out.

Glad I decided to pop into the group before sending Alice mail for exactly that reason/topic below -- having been away from access all weekend I was worried when I didn't find a message in any of my 3 accounts (I can't remember which addy I had it sent to *exactly* but I have a good idea which one it *probably* was)

Whew.....

Thanks Alice for all you do!

Tricia
