Thanks so much, Polly! :) Those bubbles were fun to do, but I really love feathers.

That is just stunning. The quilting is exceptionally beautiful. Who

*wouldn't* love to be the receipient of such a beautiful quilt?

Wonderful quilting! I thought I recognized the pattern - made the whole quilt for my God-son's middle sister on her 13th birthday. I love the flow the feathers and swirls give to the background, and you did a great job on the pebbles!

Thanks, Susan. I think the whole quilt is adorable, but I didn't think my eye doctor would want to have something quite so large hanging around her office -- and it's not really an "adult quilt".

OH, Sandy, that is fabulous! The quilting is just gorgeous. Gosh, I want to quilt like that.

Thanks, Cindy. :) I have to admit that I'm a "class junkie". I've been lucky enough to have had half a dozen from Sharon Schamber, one from Sue Nickels, one from Harriet Hargrave, one from Kathy Sandbach -- and I've been practicing for about 10-11 years. ;) I've learned so much from each of them, and I also learned a lot about 30 years ago when I was doing free motion embroidery (no embroidery machines back then!) on the DDs' clothing -- many of the techniques for that are applicable to free motion quilting, as well. A couple of years ago I also bought my wonderful Bernina 630 with its stitch regulator, though I don't always use that regulator -- still, it's very helpful most of the time, as I always have trouble keeping my stitches uniform.

What a lucky lady your eye therapist is! And what a quilter you are!

Sandy, I don't know if you'll ever, ever want to do another dragon but I just came across some that might call to you. Have you seen the ones at

There are even some scary ones there. None, methinks, as wonderful as yours, of course. Polly

Wow! Some of those are just wonderful, aren't they? And several were designed by the same woman who designed the one I did; she lives here in LV. Thanks for the link, Polly -- though I'm not sure I'm ready for another dragon just yet. ;)

Thanks, Allison. I'd done a few of the "flowy" lines and realized that the feathers weren't going to show at all, so that's when I added the pebbles.

I practiced once for 15 minutes. My teacher tells me to practice writing my name. I want to make feathers... I can't even draw feathers on paper. And I don't seem to be able to make more than one star at a time.

I am not a doodler. Do you think that makes a difference?
