Ft. Myers

DH and I are making a quick overnight trip to Ft. Myers, FL on Monday. I was wondering if there are any quilt/fabric stores that are a "must see" in Ft. Myers just in case I can talk him into a bit of S.E.X. I've been googling but haven't come up with much yet. If I can talk him into letting me take the car while he's on the job, I'll have a couple of hours to wander around on my own, anyone available for a meet-up? If I can't talk him into it, then I'll be lounging by the pool at the hotel.

Not a fabric store, but the Thomas Edison home is in Ft Myers and I enjoyed the tour a few years ago. Sorry we can't meet up, but I am about 4 hours N. of there. Barbara in FL

Thanks so much Jane. I've printed out the directions and hopefully I'll be able to talk DH into a trip there.

Cool, thanks so much. Sanibel Island is one spot we hope to find time for. I love to pick up shells. This is printed and ready to go into my bag.

Well, we went to Ft. Myers and even though I'm battling the nasty flu or whatever it is going around, we had fun. I did manage to squeeze in some fabric shopping. We went to Sew Studio (I think that was the name wasn't it Jane?) and it was nice. Then we went in search of Quilters Corner and found the Pewitt Center in Ft. Meyers but couldn't find Quilters Corner. By this time we had to head out to Page Field Airport and ended up spending the next

4 hours there.

On Tuesday we headed out to Sanibel Island to get in a bit of shelling and beach time and to check out Three Crafty Ladies. Oh my gosh! Anyone who goes to the Ft. Meyers area really needs to go to this shop. It's three crafty ladies alright. I walked in and was greeted by this wonderful beautiful "older" lady who reminded me so much of my dear grandmother. These three ladies reminded me of a Grandmother, Mom, Daughter trio working together to keep customers happy. They were all so friendly and warm and inviting. They had some of the most beautiful tropical print fabrics, tropical batiks and handdyes. Oh if I only had a few hundred dollars I would have walked out of that shop with a suitcase full of fabric. As it was, I bought a piece with seagulls on it and another piece with starfish on it. The store is small and crowded but what it lacks in room it makes up for in cheerfulness and beauty.

I hope everyone is doing well and has not been hit with the cold/flu going around.

Hugs, Mika
