I have the fabrics. I have the threads. I have template materials. I have the book (which I read 3 times.) And now I have 2 photocopies of each block pattern, but that was a challenge since the office store folks said they would NOT copy anything in a book. However, I showed them the special permission for the book owner to make copies of the patterns for personal use, and after going through TWO managers was able to get that done! So -- I've got what I need, all fabrics washed, ironed, and tucked into a wonderful large basket with the book, patterns, template stuff, etc. The threads are in an antique Victorian sewing basket, and everything is closed so the cat can't get into anything.
However, I am going to make two "other" applique blocks first, and they will become a pillow. This is just for practice, which may seem silly. However that sort of thing may be genetic, since my mother always made a "practice turkey" a week before Thanksgiving every year just to be sure that the turkey on THE DAY was good! Oh well. . .
