I've been reading the Bernina group. Mostly they talk about things having to do with embroidery stuff but now and then I learn something. One of them recommended a Grasshopper snipping tool ( available at Nancy's Notions and other places). It's just the cutest little thing. It does look like a grasshopper. Has sharp thin little feet - and NO finger loop sort of holders. You just slip a blade beneath a thread and squeeze the little bug. Just tickles the stuffing out of me. My 'high mileage' fingers and old eyes can do a super neat job of clipping with the grasshopper. I wasn't so happy with Nancy. They shipped when they got around to it and waaay over charged for shipping. Anyhow. Get a grasshopper; before they become endangered. Polly

I have something like this that Mom used for her embroidery machine and I bought some too. Blades at the end are curved upward a bit and the handles are just springy metal strips that you squeeze to cut. Use them all the time on my machine, and sometimes on my hand sewing. Love them.

Looks like a useful tool but it'll have to wait for a trip south....as with many things the shipping charges to Canada make the cost too high. :( Allison
I understand that shipping charges must change with the price of fuel. I've got that. BUT - charging me $6 to send something that weighed less than four ounces? Give me a break. They must think I'm as dumb as I look. =) Polly
