Melissa in NJ Needs TO Step Back a Bit

My job is just taking up so much more of my life now that I'm back to a an hour plus (one-way) commute to and from work. With varying hours and often late nights I'm not even getting quilting done...let alone extras for RCTQ. I just don't have the free time I used to. I barely even get online anymore to read the newsgroup.

So, that being said I am not going to do the contest for last year's BOM like I promised or the gallery. Seeing as they are profoundly alte, I'm sure that isn't a surprise to anyone. I just am not able to find the time. I know Teri graciously volunteered her time to me to do the final gallery. Perhaps she will still be willing.

As for the ribbons. I am so sorry.

I feel like such a failure to all of you. But I just have to admit to my limitations and stop stringing all of you fine folks along.

I am so sorry again. I'll be good about not volunteering for stuff unless I know I can handle it. And now it seems like all I can really get to is hosting the occassional centralized swap since that isn't too bad on time.

Again, I'm so sorry.

Melissa,

One apology was more than enough. We ALL have times when life gets in the way of of fun stuff. Trust me, I don't really think anybody here is going to demand a witch hunt on you. I don't work outside the home, but life still gets in the way of my quilting and sewing sometimes. It's okay!! Take care of you, making sure to take some personal time, rejoin when you can, and DON'T go beating yourself up over the BOM from last year, or anything else, come to think of it. Sheesh girl, as one who used to do the same thing (beating myself up over things out of my control), breathe, just breathe....if you want, I can send you something that got me through hard times..it's a little plaque that says: Things I need to do today: 1-breathe in, 2-breathe out

Melissa, Think nothing of it. Everybody understands that life has a way of consuming one's time. I, for one, am very grateful to you for organizing last year's BOM because it got me motivated to do some quilting. It had been a long, long time. So, as small a thing as it may be, you have a place in "Rita's List of Inspirational People" - I said it was a small thing :-)

Don't worry Melissa - life gets in the way of all of us at some time. Just make sure you have a little time for Melissa, even if its only a long soak in the bath tub!

As to the BOM's - I really enjoyed doing them and finishing the quilts

- my first FM Quilting! They have now been put away to reappear at Christmas, and I will always remember the fun of making them and waiting for the next blocks with eager anticipation! Thank you.

Now go and relax!

Not to worry, we are all grateful enough for the monthly inspiration. Thanks entirely to you, there's another finished quilt! Make a little time in the week just for yourself, you deserve it! Roberta in D
