I love it - really inspired, but the top zebra stripe in the diagonal bit keeps grabbing my eye a bit. May be because its a strong patterned fabric almost in the centre or maybe just be my eye!

Denny: IMO, that diagonal stripe is a REALLY important aspect of that quilt. I wonder about Butterfly, seeing elephants that aren't there!? What's that about? ROFLOL!!
Pat in Virginia PS to Butterfly: I do not have your email address! Otherwise, I'd have copied you to this silly note. :)
Hmmm .... you've got a point there, Sally! I see that Denny has the value of the fabric on that diagonal stripe or road graduating from light to dark, so that piece fits in value-wise. The zebra stripes run cross wise to the strip of fabric. It might work more smoothly if the same fabric were used but cut so the zebra stripes run more or less length wise of the strip ... that would be parallel to the length of the quilt. Poor Denny, he posts a picture and all of us are kibitzing! It is a wonderful piece, Denny! PAT in VA/USA
I looked, after Butterfly had said she saw the elephant, and I can see what she means. Look at it again, PAT, and to the right of the lion's head there is a tapering, shape, with ridged appearance, that could easily be an elephant's trunk!
Isn't this African quilt fun >g< . In message , Pat in Virginia writes

Butterfly (maybe I really DO need them to recheck the prescription on my glasses. I saw it's trunk and 2 front legs to the right of the lion--where it's body would have been--so what IS IT then? )
Haven't changed any meds lately.......I'm glad I'm not alone in this.
Butterfly (maybe we BOTH need new glasses--or maybe Pat does??????? )
This has been and continues to be a wonderful exercise for me. I have to get some postcards made so this is going to sit on the wall for me to look at and make changes too as I see it. However, now that I am 90% happy with it, I was at my son's house today visiting the granddaughter and the wallhanging may be too large so I may make some modifications, but maybe they will have to find a larger wall to put it on LOL.

Or, you maybe could build them a bigger house, to match the quilt!! Grins, PAT
