Serious reply: the pattern that Joan showed us really does need to be a two-colour quilt. I think that style would be spoiled with diversity of colour - unless it were done like a sampler, but that would ruin it too?
If *I* were doing another pattern of quilt, with lilac and navy, I would enjoy using the two colours on their own; but, if a 'zinger' were required, by statute, with those two I might use orange. . In message , nzlstar* writes
