Your DH could have his quilt by your winter, easily if you start now and make it simple >g< If you were to do a quilt made up with all sorts of squares, it would be finished quickly, and it would give you marvellous practice in sewing an accurate, straight seam and simple quilting. Hope the weather is being kind to you up there. We got rain down south too, but only one inch in 20min and so only a few localised flash floods. I'm in West Vic.

Congrats on the new machine - Janomes are great workhorses. My beloved Memory7 is nearly 30years old and I wouldn't part with it for anything. I am lucky enough to now have the first computerised machine from Janome (Memory7) and the latest model too - Janome 11000. Now I just need to learn how to drive the new beast lol.

Welcome back, I think I remember when you joined. Congrats on your machine, and your husband's enthusiasm. You'll enjoy your classes hopefully, but one thing I can say - once you start quilting you'll find it's a real addiction. That's what makes this ng so unique. We are truest addicts in the world! grin

Hello Robyn, I'd just like to say Welcome to the Land of RCTQ. We have fun here, no moderator, no rules. The only thing you really need to know is that it is very wise to have your chocolate vetted. Just send a pound or two to the Office of the Official Chocolate Taster of RCTQ, which is in my Palace here in Virginia. I will test and taste and report back via email. You don't have to thank me ... this is my unselfish volunteer duty in RCTQ. A tough job, but someone's gotta do it. :)

it's true--we are addicts!! quilts, chocolate and our beloved QI's! have fun and do try to set aside time each day if possible. With working full time and running a household by myself, i dont, but i do set aside Sunday mornings for the majority of my sewing. i do get together with other quilters once or twice a month! so glad you came out of the dark land of lurkdom!
