I'm not normally an internet shopper. Especially when it comes to fabric - I'm rather a touchy-feely kinda gal. However, I ran out of a specific fabric for a project and my LQS was also out of any more and could not order more. So, off to the internet it was. I placed an order on Friday with Fat Quarter Shop and received my package today! Monday! by Priority Mail - no special FedEx or UPS. I ordered 2 yds and got a hair over that. And their price was about half what most other online sources were quoting. So a very good experience in my book. NAYY - just wanted to pass it along for those that may be curious. Now to wash and continue my project!

I love Fat Quarter Shop. And also overrainbow.com Really good sites, both and really generous in the cuts. Never had either one cut so tight that I didn't get the full piece of fabric.

Over the rainbow has some great buys too! If you get the chance though it is worth going to her "home" on Camano Island to see the "barn" that they have their business in. It is the most incredible place and they are the neatest people. Her email newsletters are exactly like the "barn". Animals everywhere, fabric everywhere stacked not in colours but in manufacturers and designers. Her fat quarter and 1/2 yard packs are also great buys - you can't beat the prices.
The other 2 online places I will mention that I have recieved incredible service from are Fabric Depot (it takes 1 day from Portland to Seattle for delivery and my orders are always correct and postage is reasonable. Response to emails - incredible)., and Connecting Threads. I use the connecting threads thread and it has a little more lint than I would like but doesn't break too easily, is a great price (especially with the amount of thread I go through on charity quilts etc) and is the same uniformity thickness. The fabric I ordered for the first time this summer because the fat quarter and strips were a good price. It washed beautifully and handled nicely, colours are quite muted for the packs I bought but look lovely together. Not a guazy piece in the packs. Have to say I have made a table topper and quilt top and they both look good. Prices on books and notions were great too and shipping over $50.00 even on sale prices was free.
I too have ordered from Fat quarter and been really happy with their service.

They messed up an order for me recently, refunded my money and sent me the correct order. I don't know of any other place that would do that. I begged them to take my money and they wouldn't! They wouldn't even let me send the incorrect stuff back! Can you imagine? Plus, they always have the newest and the neatest stuff.
