OT: packing for my trip south

Today is a serious packing day. Hard to plan which quilting books, patterns etc. to take for 5 1/2 months! Two sewing machines and accessories, thread collection, several "kits" that I made up, special tools...... Good thing I leave clothes there - I only have to pack for the 3-4 days driving to get there! DH and I always plan a couple of sight-seeing stops on the trip, as well as a visit to Mary Jo's in Gastonia. I have my list ready..... I'll probably have to mark the newsgroup "read" when I arrive, or my computer will try to download all the posts since last April when we left! I'll be in touch with everyone next week. My email addy is the same while in Florida, but we'll be on dial-up (oh how I'll miss high-speed)

Susan, we know things could change in the blink of an eye but we're having temps of 85°. You might want to bring some very light traveling clothes. We just made a trip to the north end of Mississippi and had to leave our 'fall' clothes at home. Didn't even need a long sleeve in the evenings. Have a safe and happy trip, Polly

Hi Susan, I live in FL during the winter and SC during the summer. Only the Northerners and those from Canada think that 40 degrees is warm enough for shorts!!!! Barbara, in FL
