OT: What I've been up to

It's been a while since I've chatted, but I have been skimming the posts once in a while. After a few years of just bad things happening one after the other, the past year has been great - keeping me very busy but with good things.

My Granddaughter is now a year old and brings me immeasurable pleasure. Although they live in Virginia, we visit them often. In fact we are just back from a week there.

In November, my younger daughter was married in a beautiful ceremomy in Southern Maryland. She and her husband live about an hour from my granddaughter.

Then just this past week, my older daughter was a 3 day champion on Jeopardy! If you're a watcher, she is Marissa. We are so proud of her.

In between all this, I have been mostly making baby quilts, although I did just finish piecing a small Winding Ways for myself. I am no longer scared of curved piecing! I have ordered some fabrics from the new Dr. Seuss line and have to come up with something to show case them. I have enough for a baby quilt and a big girl quilt.

I want to send well wishes for the New Year to everyone. For those who have been having a rough time this year, hoping next year helps to heal.

Linda! Welcome home. How specially nice to see you. Please give us a rating on the Dr. Seuss line. Too often, that sort of 'commercial' (for want of a better word) print is rough or thin. Do you find it a nice quality? I'd love to have some but haven't gotten to put my hot little hands on it. The quilts I make can expect less than gentle care. Polly
