That's lovely, Heidi! I must have missed something, though; is this one hand quilted? Is that why you're talking about a frame?

Nah. The fabric on the edges is just there to test tension on the frame. Right now I'm trying to decide between red and blue for the binding. I'm thinking it will show less soil than the off-white/beige, though that *would look nice.

Thanks! I'd like to find a better way to do it. They fade a bit in the wash, and I wonder what'll happen when they're washed a few more times. And the printer fabric is so tightly woven that it really triggers my allergy to handsewing . Y'know it really would make sense to print out several of the QOV labels at a time. Otherwise, it's kind of fun to make personalized labels to coordinate. Really got a kick out of the first one I did for Grandma Abernathy's quilt.

Thanks, Sandy... Hand quilted??? I wish!!! . I have the attention span of a gnat and a powerful need for instant gratification. Nope. Got an HQ16 in late February and it's been an interesting learning curve. We used to have a PCQuilter, so the quilting this year has been my first hand-guided on a long/mid-arm. Oh my! It's fun, but it's a whole different animal.

Heidi: My QOV group adds two labels to the quilt. One is embroidered. One is printed on computer printer fabric. To facilitate sewing them to quilt, we add a narrow frame of quilting fabric and then stitch that. HTH. We've made a total of 25; four of us working, so that is average of

You guys are so sweet!

I've been thinking about sending the quilt to my brother, who flew helicopter rescue in SE Asia, and has suffered with serious neuro damage, likely from Agent Orange, ever since.

Y'know I still feel guilty for being a hippie wannabe who protested VietNam and didn't separate that from honoring the soldiers who gave life and limb for a country that seemed to honor them only in the body count. I don't like the wars now either, but I deeply respect the [mostly young] people who serve our country--and so very much want to make amends.

Okay. You can put your confessional stoles away now. I'm just having a "moment." Thanks for being here.
