Quilt Show

I have uploaded some pics from one of our small town Quilt shows. It is a small town and I didn't expect to see anything amazing but I was very impressed. There is only a few pics I didn't not have time to take pics of all the quits but there were many more there. I'm also unsure about posting these pics so I will only keep them up for a week or so since they are not my quilts. But I did ask permission to take the pics and they said it wasn't a problem.

Joanna, there are some lovely quilts there.

Just curious as to the number of stained glass quits...was that a special category or just one that you liked really well?

How fun to see a quilt show without traveling! As a new quilter, I haven't seen the stained glass quilts before. Are the black lines applique? I especially like the bird one...very nice and thank you for posting the link. Donna

Well I had to travel about 45 mins, but I also got to have coffee with a friend that I have not seen in a few months, so it was a good day. I forget the word they call the black line stuff, you can buy it by the meter or the roll in most fabric/quilting stores and you just sew it on top.

Usually -- but not always -- the black lines are sewn on -- using bias strips. I've done one (Winnie the Pooh) -- and used Clover's fusible bias -- and my double needle. It (applying the black bias lines) is really fairly easy. Well -- relatively easy anyway.

I fell in love with 1001 and was able to find that panel at Somewhere Sewing. Of course, I'm not going to do stained glass for a crib quilt but it is such a beautiful panel. Thank you, Joanna. Polly
