quilting humor - new thread

As I have just sewed a row for the third time and have it come out exactly the same (5 mismatched points in a row), I thought I would start a new humor topic/question for all of those must-be-perfect projects...

How do you hide your mismatched points?

Here are my contributions:

  1. Applique right over them (I'm thinking my project is now calling for
25 hearts...)
  1. Rick Rack
  2. A really hot iron, a lot of steam, and some tugging (see next topic: how to hide your warped quilts).

How do you cover your oopsies?

(PS - if all of your points match, I don't want to hear it right now :)).

Unless the points are really horrible (And I mean Really Horrible), I ignore them and go on with life. Precision Ain't Me, but it does get better for me the more I sew. I just hope I haven't backslid with as long as it has been since I've sewn. I did cut a lot of strips for a Bento Box quilt I'm working on. I just wish I liked the colors more... It needs something...

I'm seriously considering something along those lines. The colors are a couple of reds, a couple of burgundies, and the best I could do for mauves, ranging from dusty purple-ish to pinkish, with a pattern or print to all of them. I've tried one block with lime green, I just don't have a lot of it. Yellows I could do more easily, having built up a bit of that in my stash, whether clear yellow is something I have a lot of is another matter.... maybe it's time for another trip to Joanne's. I've got a coupon!

JMNSHO--sounds like it could use a touch of yellow or gold. Preferably gold. White, no. Cream or ivory, maybe. Definitely needs contrasting color. But I would like to see the basic colors before offering advice, LOLOL
