quilting related - Happy dance and opinion needed

Sep 05, 2005 5 Replies

Well, my nine-patch colour wheel is done, I only have the binding to do. I just need opinions on if there is enough quilting in the border. The quilt is appr. 98 inches square.

Here is the quilting in the squares, any blue, pink or peach colouring below the stitchs is chalk so that will all come out:

This is a corner. The rose is free-handed and is repeated in the each corner and halfway along each border. There is a larger similar rose in the centre square.

And another view.

Thanks for your thoughts.

If it were up to me, I'd do more quilting in the borders to balance the amount of quilting in the blocks. Either more leaves, or bigger leaves, or another vine criss-crossing over/under the existing one?

I love the roses in the corners!!

You do beautiful work.

DOESN'T MAKE THE WORLD GO AROUND. BUT IT CERTAINLY MAKES THETRIP WORTHWHILE.

I'll add my "me too" to the two previous votes for more quilting in the borders, Marijke. :) It's a lovely quilt, and your quilting is beautiful. It's just that there's more quilting in the center than in the borders, so it's not balanced.

The roses are so pretty -don't hate me, but IMO you should do more of them. Maybe in between all the leaves on the border. Roberta in D
