Re: OT Off Topic

As the original post had gone into my 'filter file' with posts from our resident Troll, when I saw it repeated in the replies I presumed our Troll was back trying to be funny. But no, when I checked the e-mail address it is indeed the Edward W Thompson who has posted before.

As he appears to be a fellow countryman of mine, may I offer apologies, and hope you believe that British men are courteous and pleasant. Unfortunately this one is 'the exception that proves the rule'. Thank goodness he is not someone I know.

No apologies needed, Sally. Jerks are jerks, and nationality has little or nothing to do with personality. There are a few jerks everywhere. Luckily they are vastly outnumbered by nice people.

fear not, Sally. we all know you are a better person than that one.

been trying to be really quiet on this one however this 'owner-operator' is in need of the wok treatment. consider why the term 'jerk' fits so aptly. :) there certainly isnt any quilting going on in that household and still isnt signing the posts. i read the netiquette paper from intel dated 1995, for the most part the 'rules' have changed a whole lot in that decade+. in the second paragraph it reads....(copy/pasted right off the page) "This document provides a minimum set of guidelines for Network Etiquette (Netiquette) which organizations may take and adapt for their own use." therefore all that follows is adaptable to our needs and purposes. rctq has adapted those for their own use over the years. we like chatting bout quilting and our lives. we get on quite nicely round the 'old cyberquilting frame' without one who rarely posts and then only to read his own words and hear his own voice. mcp comes to mind as well. yup, owner-operator for sure. off to bed now, i got stuff to attend to early tomorrow. cheers from a chilly spring night in the south pacific, jeanne If at first you don't succeed, get a bigger hammer. --Carolyn McCarty
