Good morning everyone.Just under three years ago I was on the board telling you all that mymom had been diagnosed with colon cancer. Unfortunately, when theyfound it, it was already stage IV, with metastases to the lives andlymph nodes. I am sad to have to say that my dear mother passed awaylast week at the age of 68. Much too young. And since then, everytimeI pick up a needle my eyes fill up and I can't see through the tears.Like with other cancer screening tests, do get your check ups, all ofthem, regularly. I know, the screening tests are not pleasant, butthey can save a lot of grief for all involved, and they only take amoment. I believe that mom could have beat this if only she would havegone in for screening.For now, I have to putt strength by believing that she is now at peaceand can finally rest after fighting a long and very very hard battle.Getting through my 45th birthday this Sunday without her, will be soso hard.GET YOUR SCREENING TESTS DONEClaudia

Claudia, I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of your dear mom. My sincere condolences. I lost my mom in '03 and not a day goes by that I don't think of her.

And thank you for reminding everyone to get their screening test done!

No one wants to hear a bad diagnosis but -- and believe me as I speak from experience - if you DO have to get a bad diagnosis the very next thing you want to hear is 'we got it early.'
