I checked out the xray film on the weekend. It doesn't melt. It softens a bit when hot so if you're ironing on a soft surface it ends up not completely flat - but it holds its shape just fine. Polly: do you want some???

Now THAT's funny. I just happen to have some xrays of my feet. ( Broke a foot bone, 1st doctor set it wrong; next doctor said I needed to have a sort of splint made for it from my hip bone. That's never going to happen. I just have to remember which foot to use if I decide to kick somebody.) Polly

Don't know ... but I can always move to Plan B which would be the foot xrays. Polly

"Allison" I guess you're all set!

So you could use your baby toe as a template. :)

I was just thinking of that .25 inch adding thingy. Did you know that if you check your 'button box' you will most likely find a button with a hole .25 inch from the edge. It can be used to mark those lines. Just a thought. Bonnie, in Middletown, VA

Whether one gets them from a dentist or not, you can use x-rays for template plastic. You just need to soak them in bleach for a while and then all the teeth or toes or whatever float away and you are left with nice see-through plastic - perfect for templates.

Or warm bicarbonate solution first and then vinegar.

Be warned that the result will be VERY see-through and you will have a hard time finding the stuff if you drop it.

High-tech film base is often polyester, so I suppose that's the highest setting you can iron it at.
