and the top is finished. I've managed to gain 4 pounds in the process, doing absolutely nothing in the past week except eating and finishing this quilt top!

That's lovely, Joan. The contrasts between the colours and the black is really striking. And you've done a great job of choosing the coloured fabrics - they blend without looking "muddy".

Those points will get cut off after it's quilted. It will have straight edges. j

Yes, the birds are shaped like origami cranes and reminiscent of the statue at Peace Memorial Park in Hiroshima Japan. No, not a one week project. It was a block of the month. I did 9 birds per month and then the borders and sashing.
