That's lovely, Joan. The contrasts between the colours and the black is really striking. And you've done a great job of choosing the coloured fabrics - they blend without looking "muddy".

Those points will get cut off after it's quilted. It will have straight edges. j

Oh....My.....Gosh..... That is stunning! What is the bird? A crane? Did you make this start to finish this week? The fabrics are beautiful! You never cease to amaze me. Congratulations!

Yes, the birds are shaped like origami cranes and reminiscent of the statue at Peace Memorial Park in Hiroshima Japan. No, not a one week project. It was a block of the month. I did 9 birds per month and then the borders and sashing.

Joan........ when I looked at your quilt, I actually said "WOW!" out loud. Beautiful, beautiful......... and the inspiration behind it is even better. What a wonderful quilt - your work is always so incredible.
