Treadle belt for old machine?

Try a shoeshop. That is where I found the right sort of leather to replace mine. Not only did the shoemaker have a very similar machine, and know what I was talking about, he was willing to sell me a length of leather with rounded edges, to replace my old belt. Warning: you will attach the two ends together and sew for a while, but the leather will stretch and you'll need to cut a bit off and reattach the two ends after this happens.

Are there any Singer shops in Berlin? It is just that I know in the UK, our local Singer shop sold this leather. I think that they do so here in France as well. Try googling Singer, germany and see what you can find.

if there is a singer store in Germany, you can get new leather belts there -- because singer still manufactures treadles for countries where electricity is not available in all areas, they still make the belts.

If you can't locate any there, let me know -- I'll buy some here and mail them to you.

I searched on eBay using 'treadle+belt' and found a lot of belts- here's one of them

Might be worth contacting an actual Singer dealer. They were able to get a new belt for my 1950's vintage machine. Had to be special-ordered, but could be done. I had the manual along to show them the exact part number. Roberta in D (close to Munich, I feel your pain re speaking deutsch)
