Treadle belt for old machine?

Jul 18, 2007 3 Replies

Hi, my name is jodi and i have recently moved to berlin and just yesterday scored myself a beautiful old singer treadle machine!

Unfortunately the old leather belt is broken and I need to find a way to substitute it. Stockings didn't work I am afraid as it slips.

I don't speak deutsch yet so hunting down a leather man who can make a new one would take me a month or more to locate and communicate with .. and frankly i am ready to sew sew sew ...

so .. any suggestions would be welcome

thanks jodi

Take a piece of the broken belt into a sewing machine store where they repair old machines, and show it to the person. They will probably be able to figure out that you're looking for a new belt, and they probably have a few in stock. Good luck!

I emailed her private . If you email me private with model I can help with your belt
