I've finished the pieced and paper-pieced blocks for this month. I promise I WILL get to the appliqué, but I'm not sure when!

Oooh, double-love the one with the green!
Thanks! It was tricky. I haven't done a block from templates in a long time. Since the measurements were strange, I used the templates instead of trying to do strips with rotary cutting. I was amazed when it actually turned out to be the right size!

Really nice job Carole - I love the purple one especially - what's the name of that block - it's facinating.

Thanks. I'm MUCH better at piecing than at appliqué! :) I'm really happy with the way the colors are working out, too.

OH WOW! Just seen your blocks Carole. They are fabulous!! The colours and fabrics are just beautiful. Well done!
I nearly did a poinsettia with varying leaf sizes but went for the one size. You're right though they do vary and aren't so neatly arranged as the one from EQ. Regarding the jaggy leaves. Don't worry so much about them being precise as in reality they are not uniform anyway and if you want redraw the jags out of them. Just do them in different fabric to the top ones. glad you preferred my wonky original to the EQ one ;)

What a beautiful quilt you are going to have! Well done, all of them!

I would love to do it in purples for a very new and very dear friend I met thru my Hospice group - she's an angel and loves purple. She and another girl who is also a pure angel and I have become the best of friends since our course and the other one seems to like greens or blues. I would love to give them a surprise down the road - a quilt of course with their favourite cololurs. I'll have to look more deeply into the other girl's fav colour, but purple is definitely the favourite of the other. And I've been collecting purples so that will be first on the list right after I finish my Blueberry Basket quilt.
