YES! It was a great class! I've had several classes on machine quilting feathers, and they've all been good, but this is the first time I've been able to actually *draw* feathers myself so that I could plan where they should be. :D Sue Nickels is a wonderful teacher, and two days in class meant that we were able to accomplish a lot in a more relaxed way.
The first day we drew (and/or traced) feathers on paper, followed by doing some on muslin and then actually quilting them. The second day we designed a feathered project, drew it onto our fabric and actually began quilting it. Mine is about 1/4 quilted, so I still have a ways to go before it's done, but I'm very pleased.
My quilting buddy had invited me to stay with her, so that was fun -- and she has a standard poodle, so I got my QI fix, too, while I was away from Dexter. :) We had loads of fun, and the only bad part of the entire trip was the drive home. I know we really, *really* need rain, so I'm not complaining, but boy that drive in the pouring rain with clouds sitting on the roads so that visibility was almost nil was anything but fun. But all's well that ends well, and I'm hoping for more quilting time when I finish getting things at home back to normal.
